New Angenieux Lens Accessories Increase Versatility of Optimo and Optimo DP Zoom Lenses.

1.4x and 2x Optimo Extenders DSLR PL Mounts .75x Wide Angle Adapter i /technology

Las Vegas, NV (April 11, 2011) – Angenieux is displaying its enhanced line of lens accessories here at NAB 2011. Featured products include: the 0.75x Wide Angle Adapter; next generation of 1.4x and 2x Optimo Extenders; DSLR PL Mounts for Optimo PL mount lenses and a Data System module integrating /i protocol for key lens data transfer.

“Accessories can vastly increase the versatility of Angenieux zoom lenses without substantially adding to the bottom-line cost,” said Chris Beauparlant, VP, U.S. Sales and Marketing, Thales Angenieux . “Ultimately it’s about enhancing the performance, quality and versatility of Angenieux lenses to further increase their range of applications.”

The WA 0.75x Wide Angle Adapter easily attaches to the front of the Optimo

15-40mm Lens and the Optimo DP 16-42mm Lens to push your wide angle lens even further. The WA 0.75x attachment also works at short focal lengths. At 15mm with an Optimo 15-40, it allows you to shoot wide angle at 11.4mm. With an Optimo DP 16-42, it allows users to shoot 12.2mm at 16mm. The conjunction of lenses plus a WA x0.75 attachment provides a nice fish effect for endless creative possibilities.

1.4x and 2x Extenders are now compatible with the entire Optimo line (except Optimo DP – Optimo 45-120 to be determined). They are an ideal way of increasing focal length at a cost effective price. The lens focal length is multiplied by 1.4x or 2x with only one or two stop loss.

Optimo 15-40, Optimo 28-76, new Optimo 45-120, and Optimo 24-290 can be easily affixed onto DSLR cameras with APS-C format thanks to the Angenieux designed Canon EF and Nikon F mounts. These mounts replace the PL mount of the lens for a precise flange to image plane alignment. These Optimo zoom lenses fit on Canon EOS 7D, Canon EOS 1D MK IV, Nikon D3000, Nikon D 3100, Nikon D300, Nikon D7000 and can be used as a Director’s viewfinder or “B” camera.

Angenieux has also integrated the /i protocol in the ADS - Angenieux Data System- module specifically designed for all lightweight zoom lenses including the Optimo 15-40, Optimo 28-76, new Optimo 45-120, Optimo DP 16-42 and, Optimo DP 30-80. The /i technology allows monitoring and transfer of key lens data: focus distance, depth of field, focal zoom position and iris setting. DPs can save and upload lens profiles on memory cards for easy zoom lens swaps, lens calibration, lens synchronization and, post-production analysis. This highly practical solution will be particularly appreciated for many applications such as lens position monitoring, 3D acquisition, virtual studios, and special effects.

The technology streamlines both production and post, saving significant time and costs while eliminating guesswork and enabling greater creative freedom.
